IEEE WIE Bowling Tournament & Post-Raya Gathering 2026: Strikes, Smiles and Unity
On 26 April 2026, the IEEE WIE Malaysia Affinity Group, co-sponsored by the IEEE Malaysia Section, hosted the IEEE WIE Bowling Tournament and Post-Raya Gathering at Gurney Bowl, UTM Hotel & Residences, Kuala Lumpur.
The event brought together members from across IEEE Malaysia chapters for a lively day of friendly competition, networking, and Aidil Fitri celebration. Starting with bowling matches at 10 AM, participants later gathered at The Sage for a warm Post-Raya celebration filled with camaraderie and joy.
Strengthening Unity Across Chapters
The gathering saw participation from multiple IEEE chapters, including IEEE KL Subsection, IEEE PES, IEEE SPS, IEEE CS, IEEE AP/MTT/EMC, IEEE IMS, IEEE EMBS, IEEE UM Student Branch, IEEE WIE Malaysia Affinity Group, and IEEE Malaysia Section. Their support made the event meaningful, strengthening connections across disciplines and generations.
Celebrating Excellence
The tournament recognized outstanding performances:
- Top Teams: IEEE Kuala Lumpur Subsection, IEEE PES, Electro Wizard (AP/MTT/EMC)
- Best Bowlers: Dr Liza Abdul Latiff (female) and Dr Fitri Yaakob (male), both from IEEE KL Subsection
- Lucky Draw Winner: Khairul Shazwan Bin Mamat (IEEE KL Subsection)
Each winner received food hampers, while lucky draws added excitement to the day.
